Ma’wa Collective is unlocking a brand-new international destination: Costa Rica! This week-long adventure through one of the world’s most stunning and well-protected natural landscapes is the perfect way to start 2026.

Begin your adventure at La Fortuna’s Morpho House Butterfly Farm, stroll through lush gardens, and marvel at colorful butterflies. Soar above the rainforest canopy on a thrilling zip line tour, hike the scenic trails of Mirador El Silencio, and cruise across Lake Arenal to Monteverde’s cloud forests, where wildlife like toucans, monkeys, and quetzals await. Explore the charming towns of Grecia and Sarchí, and discover Costa Rica’s coffee traditions on a guided tour of Doka Coffee Estate.

✈️ Flights

Flights to San Jose (SJO) are *not* included with your booking. We highly recommend when selecting flights that you ensure ample time to catch connecting flights to ensure there are no missed flights due to delays. If you land into SJO any time on January 17th, 2026 your airport transfer will be coordinated to the hotel.

⚠️ Safety Guidelines

The hikes planned on this trip take place on easy to moderate trails, and each day has a different combination of sightseeing and activities. Good physical fitness and proper hiking shoes are essential.

Zip Line:

The Zip Line Adventure on Day 3 is a high intensity activity and not suitable for individuals with:

  • Health issues such as back, neck, bone, or heart conditions

  • Recent surgeries

  • Pregnant women are not allowed

  • Maximum weight allowed: 254 pounds/115 kilos

While the Zip Line is an included activity in the itinerary, you may opt out if you are not comfortable participating

Your tour guide will be waiting at the airport for you and pick you up in our private transport and take you to your hotel where you will spend the night. Upon arrival, the guide will meet your group at the designated location, welcome you, and provide a brief orientation about your upcoming itinerary. After the introduction, the guide will escort the group to the transportation arranged for your transfer to the hotel or next destination.

Full-Day Morpho House ButterFly Farm and La Fortuna / Arenal

Butterfly Farm Tour: a charming butterfly garden where you can admire different species of butterflies — including the famous blue morpho — in their natural environment. Learn about their life cycle and enjoy a peaceful walk surrounded by tropical plants and flowers.

Leaving La Guácima taking the Route 141 toward San Ramón, depending on your preferred route. Continue through rural towns and scenic highlands, passing coffee plantations and small villages. Heading toward La Fortuna. This road climbs into the northern highlands, with winding sections and beautiful mountain views. Descend toward La Fortuna, the gateway to Arenal Volcano and nearby attractions. La Fortuna is a lively town in northern Costa Rica, best known as the gateway to Arenal Volcano National Park. Surrounded by lush rainforest, waterfalls, and hot springs, it combines small-town charm with plenty of visitor services—restaurants, shops, and tour operators.

Zip Line Tour & Arenal Hanging Bridges

Soar through the rainforest canopy on Adventure’s Zip Line, located just minutes from downtown La Fortuna at the base of the Arenal Volcano. This tour features a series of cables of varying lengths and heights, giving you a bird’s-eye view of lush jungle, rivers, and the volcano itself.

Experience the rainforest from above at Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park, one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the Arenal region. This guided walk takes you through a 3.2 km (2-mile) trail that winds through lush tropical rainforest, featuring 16 bridges, including 6 long suspension bridges that offer breathtaking views of the forest canopy and the majestic Arenal Volcano. As you explore, your naturalist guide will help you spot wildlife such as sloths, toucans, monkeys, and tropical frogs, and explain the fascinating relationships between plants and animals within this rich ecosystem. The combination of hanging bridges, scenic views, and abundant wildlife makes Mistico Park a highlight for nature lovers and photographers alike. It’s a safe and educational adventure suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

Arenal Lake Crossing Adventure by Boat

The Arenal Lake Crossing is a scenic and time-saving transfer between La Fortuna/Arenal and Monteverde. Instead of driving the long road around the lake, travelers take the transportation to the edge of Lake Arenal, board a boat for a 30–40 minute ride across the water, and then continue on the other side to their

destination.

  • Scenery: Stunning views of Arenal Volcano, lush hillsides, and rural villages along the lake.

Curicancha Cloud Forest Reserve

Curicancha Reserve is a private wildlife sanctuary located between the Monteverde and Santa Elena Cloud Forests. Covering about 205 acres of cloud forest, transitional forest, and open meadows, it’s one of the best places in Costa Rica for peaceful nature walks and birdwatching.

  • Trails: Well-marked paths (easy to moderate) that wind through dense forest, gardens, and open clearings.

  • Wildlife: Frequent sightings of hummingbirds, toucans, motmots, trogons, howler and capuchin monkeys, and sometimes the resplendent quetzal.

Spend the day exploring two charming towns in Costa Rica’s Central Valley. In Grecia, stroll through a clean, friendly town and visit the famous red-metal church of Our Lady of Mercy, a 19th-century landmark shipped from Belgium. Continue on to Sarchí, the country’s artisan capital, where you’ll see brightly painted oxcarts, hand-crafted furniture and souvenirs, and even the world’s largest oxcart at the central park. This outing combines local culture, architecture, and traditional crafts, with opportunities to shop for authentic Costa Rican handicrafts and enjoy the

cool highland scenery.

Located on the fertile slopes of the Poás Volcano, Doka Estate is one of Costa Rica’s most famous coffee plantations. On this guided tour you’ll walk through lush coffee fields, visit the working coffee mill (beneficio) — the oldest wet mill in the country — and learn every step of the production process, from seed to cup.
